Who We Are

Acadiana Legal Service Corporation is a private, non-profit law firm. It provides free legal assistance in civil cases to those who could not otherwise afford it. We are funded solely by grants and donations. This program is financially assisted by the Interest on Lawyers' Trust Accounts Program of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.

Eligibility for our services is based on an applicant's income, financial resources, the merits of the case and availability of resources to address the client's needs.

Our office provides free legal advice and consultation to low-income residents. Services are offered in the following areas: Family Law (adoptions, custody, child support, etc); Litigation (employment matters, housing problems, etc); and Administrative Law (cases involving public benefits).

Exceptions may be granted by the Executive Director, if client is very slightly over the limit.

Emergency Instructions

What is an Emergency?
An emergency exists if you have been served with court papers or have a deadline or court date, or been evicted.
In the event of emergency, call or walk in to the nearest office, and explain your emergency.
