Applying online for legal help

💡 This program helps you apply for free legal help from Acadiana Legal Service Corporation or Southeast Louisiana Legal Services.

How it works

You will answer questions about yourself, your finances, and your legal problems. If it appears you qualify for free legal help based on your answers, someone from a free Louisiana legal services organization will call you to ask a few more questions.

Then, staff at the legal services program will explain to you whether you qualify for services or not. You will only get an attorney if you qualify for free legal services.

Legal emergencies

Do not apply online if you have a legal emergency like an upcoming court date or deadline. As a general rule, if you need to take action in five (5) days or less, you have an emergency and need to call your nearest legal services office. To find your nearest legal services office and its contact information, use our Referral Navigator.

Remember:

  • Using this online program to apply does not guarantee that you qualify for help and does not mean you have a lawyer.
